Three phases shaped the man I am today.

The first phase was the sports phase. Swimming, surfing, cycling and tennis were and still are part of my life. From an early age I learned a lot from sports, especially about discipline and perseverance. Because surfing I started traveling.

The second phase of my life was the college phase. Law and Environmental Law gave me the necessary knowledge to first understand and then question social, political and economical structures of society.

The third stage and perhaps the most important of all was the stage where I left my comfort zone to live and grow. Modeling began without pretense at the age of eighteen but it was only after college that I became a professional model.

My modeling career started really at the age of twenty-eight in Europe. The proximity to the European fashion system made me learn a lot about the fashion industry and also made me reflect on the textile history of Latin America.

The beautiful memories of the clothes and accessories I saw during my surf trips across the Latin American continent during my early twenties made me return from Europe to start an extensive research on the fashion of Latin America.

After years of research I founded the production company PLUS Art Films and created the film project MODA.DOC América Latina. What started as a dream with some collaborators became a television series for FASHION TV.

Such a deep and wide film project demanded more Knowledge. Cinema and Fashion Law were the necessary additional education for me. Soon invitations to talk about ethical fashion at conferences started to happen.

MODA.DOC América Latina has more than a decade of hard work. Work that could have been carried out by important film producers or important fashion magazines. But it arose from the initiative of a regular model.

Today I feel proud and  grateful for my modeling career.  Through this job I could see more of the world, I could educate myself more, I could have a broad view of the industry and also be part of a global movement for ethics in fashion.

I believe in good, in sustainable development, in a better world. Fashion can and should be only a force for good. It sure needs regulation. It sure needs sustainable values. Fashion is more than just design and business.

PLUS Art Films was born to tell emotional and sensory stories designed to spark debate. INFORMATION IS THE KEY TO TRANSFORMATION. It's nice to see that more and more people are concerned about the future of fashion.

The biodiversity and plurality of Latin America has tremendous value in the world to come. The continent's textile history dates back more than five thousand years. The wisdom of the past and the design of the future is a powerful combination.

Interviewing so many designers, artisans, journalists and college professors made me more knowledgeable. I am aware that I still have a lot more to learn. For this reason I decided to seek further education in Fashion Law.
